About

Some of my Amateur Radio Background

I’ve spent a 50 year career in the Denver Metro Area engaged in Seismic Geophysics, GIS, Databases and Software Development.  I started Infopipe in 1994 and have closed the corporation at the end 2023.  I still do some consulting as a sole proprietor.

I have private pilot license and a sUAS license.

First Licensed

I received my Amateur Extra license in 2007.  First ham call was KC0ZXG, then WB0DLC, and finally WK0C. I prefer the digital modes with FT8 on 20M as my primary method.  I live about 7 miles SE of Santa Fe, NM.  I’ve been trying JS8Call quite a bit, but few contacts.  And recently, I’ve become interested in Nets of New Mexico:  http://www.arrl-nm.org/wp/nets-around-new-mexico

I have a FT991A putting out 60 watts connected to 20m dipole and a loaded 40m dipole at 15 ft.  I’ve also installed E-W EFHW 40-160m NVIS at 15 ft sloping to 10ft.  I also participate in weak signal nets on 2m/70cm SSB-USB here in Northern New Mexico.  I have a 2M/70cm Comet GP-3 at 15 ft for VHF/UHF.

I’ve got my 2M Packet station (145.010) up with a Kantronics KAM XL.

I enjoy working with the members of the Santa Fe Amateur Radio Club, Santa Fe ARES, and the Caravan Club.

I’ve also started CW Morse Code Training at:  https://cwa.cwops.org/
